Thinking of You Note Cards

Good morning!
I thought I'd take a moment and share a set of cards I made last weekend with my new Stampin' Up! goodies. I got them on Friday morning, and stamped away all night and Most of the weekend! :) I love days like that! These note cards feature a stamped sentiment from the new Sale-a-bration cling stamp set 'Whimsical Words', dsp from the Sending Love pack, the new Sale-a-bration Scallop Trim border punch, and some Pretty in Pink corduroy brads! I used circle punches to punch the sentiment, and hand stitched the brown WalMart buttons to the card front. The satin ribbon is Vintage cream from PTI, and the paper flowers are Prima.

The color combo here is Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Kraft, and Vanilla. I found these A1/4bar Kraft envelopes on Ebay! I love them!

I almost have every color of the corduroy buttons and brads from SU. I remember thinking that they should make them in Real Red too, and when I saw them in the Mini catty I just about died!! They are on my desk now baby! I may hoard them for a while now though!!
~
My husband does not care too much for my cardmaking addiction. He tolerates it at best. So you can imagine how shocked/amazed/surprised/happy I was when he brought me a new rotary paper trimmer and 3 new sets of Inkadinkado clear stamps!!
Boy do I love him!
I really thought that my complaints about my worn out trimmer had gone right over his head, but turns out he was listening! {mark the calendar!} He got the exact one I needed, and he said it was 40% off at JoAnn's Fabric, as were the three stamp sets that he "knew I could use"!
Then he proceeded to tell me that he was going out of town for his job for 2 months, and he thought this would keep me busy and happy while he is gone! Does he know me or what??
{Love you babe! You are the best! Big kiss!}
Okay....I gotta go!
Have a fantastic day!

Caardvarks Red Heart Challenge Note Card Set!

Hello stampers!
I thought I'd share a project I created for the Caardvarks Red Heart Challenge. The challenge is to make something using the color red and to include hearts! It does not get any easier than that, right? The deadline is February 1st, if you want to play along too!
So I made this little note card set, which falls into the Valentine's category, and is red and has a heart!
The card base is Real Red, and the designer paper is SU's Love Sparkles Scrappin' Kit. The heart is from SU's 'Love You Much' stamp set, and is stamped with pigment ink, and heat embossed with clear powder, making the details raised and shiny. I hand stitched the red button to the heart, then attached it using dimensionals, over a panel of Real Red dsp with a Whisper White scalloped border. The paper hydrangea is from Prima, and I attached it with a Whisper White brad, over some cute stitched red ribbon. The shiny brads are from a shop on Ebay, Pink Hedgehog Crafts, I think. Each note card measures 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches, and fit inside 4bar/A1 envelopes, which are mailable!
Super cute and fun to make!

I hope you have enjoyed my creations! Thank you for visiting and for all of your heartfelt comments too!

Now go stamp something! :)

Puppy Love Digi Stamp for D2D Artist's Challenge

Hello again ladies!
I have been super busy all week, and have been stamping my heart out! I find that I do a lot more stamping if I stay away from the computer! {far away!} I am sure many of you know what I am saying! :)
The card I am posting tonight is for the Designed2Delight Artist's Challenge. It features the gorgeous image 'Puppy Love'. You can buy this image in Faith Skrdla's Digi Stamp Shop!I actually printed this image out this morning, and worked on it off and on all day! My boys are home from school today, and have been keeping me on my toes! So, I sure am posting this one under the wire!! :) Plus, it is dark, so I apologise for the bad photography!
The color combo is Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Vanilla. The pretty dogs are Caramel and Cocoa. The little heart stamp used on the card base, and inside the card, are from Verve. And the sentiment inside, 'Nobody Loves You More Than Me' is from Rosie's Roadshow Stamps.
That about sums it up, I think. Love this image! Love these colors! Can't wait to see the next freebie from Faith!
I {HEART} Designed2Delight Digi Stamps!!
Have a fantastic night!

Another Trio of Valentine's Day Note Cards!

Hey there ladies!
Well, I think I mentioned before that I {LOVE} Valentine's Day! So I won't say it again! :) I did however, express my love through this set of lovely note cards! Can you feel it?
I am almost out of this Real Red dotted dsp, which will be a disappointment. I REALLY like it! And yes, I used the heart stamp from 'Love You Much' by Stampin' Up! again....but I can't help it! It is awesome, and I am drawn to it, like a Jedi force! :) Seriously!
I added beautiful red flowers with Whisper White brads to this set of cards. Love those too! I think I am almost out of the red buttons, so I may have to go buy some more soon.
I cannot wait to receive my latest order from Stampin' Up!. I am in a monthly group, where we take turns being hostess, and we have a minimum buying amount. We also split things in order to make it more economical, which I love! I am waiting on 5 colors of the new satin ribbon, 5 yards of each. I love my Whisper White so much that I hope the new colors are as beautiful.
My order should arrive this week! I am so excited!

Up close!

And here is the inside. These little note cards do not call for a lot of decoration inside, as they are perfectly sized for a quick note, or in this case, a little I Love You! :)
What kind of Valentine's are you creating? Please share a link with me so I can check them out!
Thanks for putting up with me!

Valentine Note Card Set

Hello!
Sherrie here again, {of course!} to share another Valentine project with you.
I love to make these little sets of note cards because they are a perfect size for little notes, and because the size is perfect for a little repetition without getting burned out of creativity. I do not like to make the same card over and over again, but these sets are fun for me.
Each note card base measures 3-1/2 by 4-1/4 inches. You can cut all three from a single sheet of 8-1/2 by 11 inch cardstock. And, these cuties fit inside A1 or 4bar envelopes, which are mailable! That right there makes them worthwhile to create!

The stamps are SU's 'Love You Much' stamp set, and the cardstocks, dsp's, and ink's are SU also. The ribbon is from my abundant stash, the buttons from WalMart, and the brads are from Pink Hedgehog Crafts on Ebay. The doily punch is Martha Stewart.
The hearts are stamped and heat embossed with clear powder, for shine and texture. I hand stitched the buttons to each heart before adhering them to the card fronts with pop up foam dots from Micheals.

I think red is one of my most favorite colors. It appeals to all of my senses. Red tulips and petunias are my favorite flowers. Cherry Lifesavers, ripe tomatoes, red satin ribbon, and of course, Red Valentine hearts! I love it when my husband and boys wear red shirts, they just look fantastic to me! My Tahoe is red! I'd probably paint my house red if my hubby would let me. But he won't!
How about you? Don't you think red is supreme?
:)

Lovin' Designed2Delight Digital Stamps a 'Latte'!

I am back again with another card for the Designed2Delight Artist's Challenge, designed and hosted by Faith Skrdla of Designed2Delight Digital Stamps.
This week the free digital stamp is a super cute cup of java, or cocoa if you please, AND a set of fabulous sentiments to go with it!! Isn't that awesome?
Here is what I came up with:
Honestly, I could not figure out how to add and print out the sentiment below or above the cup of joe. So I just printed all of the sentiments out on a seperate sheet of cardstock, and cut out the one I wanted. I printed out the cup several times too, on Whisper White cs, {you'd think I'd learn!!} and actually watercolored several of them before I gave up in frustration and settled on this one. I did not mean to make the cup so Regal Rose, but the black ink does not like me, and blurred and blotched, and fuzzed and finicked me to death! I just kept adding more and more color until I could not see any evidence of it! Then I added Real Red highlights for shadow and dimension, and Bashful Blue around the whole image to clean up the edges. Then I walked {stomped} away! :)
I added Crystal Effects to the hearts and glitter to the cream topping to distract the looker!

The White satin bow and button are super easy to do, and added some soft femininity to my card!

I punched out the hearts from a seperate mug, and colored them, Crystal Effected them, and adhered them inside the card. Super cute!

Happy Valentine's Day Card

Howdy again!!
I have been super crafty this week, and it just won't stop flowing! So awesome! I love it! Like I said in my previous post, I pulled out all of my Valentine goodies and I am rolling with it!
This card uses the heart image from SU's 'Love You Much' stamp set. It is my favorite in my heart stamp collection.
The card base is Real Red, and the patterned paper is from a Scrappin' Kit, and is Regal Rose. The Real Red patterned paper is from a few catalogs ago...can't remember the name. The heart is stamped with red pigment ink, and heat embossed. The doily border is Martha Stewart, and the pretty buttons are from Wal-Mart. I love the red velvet ribbon I used here. I think I found it at a LSS a while back, and have been hoarding it since! :)
I really wish I could figure out what's up with my sewing machine, because this card would look so pretty with some sewing on it!! It is be THE touch it needs!

The {Feb. 14} stamp is from SU's 'A Happy Heart' set, as is the sentiment on the cardfront.
Here it is posing to the side for you! Isn't she pretty? I am loving this color combo, and in an effort to release some of my hoarded {loved} stamping items, you will be seeing a lot more creations using these goodies! Gotta make room for more {new} sweets!

Speaking of which, have you been keeping up with all of the new releases lately??? Yikes! Too much beautiful stuff out there!!

Verve

Papertrey Ink

Clear Dollar Stamps

Flourishes

Spellbinders

I think I will be saving all my money up to get several stamp sets and papers from PapertreyInk, and Verve. I did purchase a few sets from ClearDollarStamps recently, and am planning some Valentines..... coming soon! The new Nesties and borders and such from Spellbinders are great! They have a Big Scalloped border, and Big Scalloped Ovals that are to die for!! Lots of good things that I cannot afford!! I tryed my best to win something...but no luck!
What about you? What have you added to your wish list recently? Tell all!

Thanks for stopping by!

Some Valentine's Day Tags

Hey there everyone!
I just want to share some things I have been up to this week! I am excited about Valentine's Day, and have been digging around in my hoarded stash of stamping bliss, and dug out everything I have that is red, pink, white, fuzzy, shiny, velvety, heart shaped, and all together Valentine delicious!! My stamping station looks very {messy} beautiful and inspiring covered with all the bright treasures of this upcoming holiday! One of the great finds I came upon was the Stampin' Up! set 'Love You Much'. I used it several times last year, and remember being disappointed that I had not used it more! So, I made three sets of tags for treats and gifts for Valentine's Day! (As well as some cards and little note cards! ~ which I will post soon! :) The heart tags were stamped with red pigment ink, and heat embossed with clear powder, making them all shiny and raised. I cut them out and adhered them to red cardstock, and cut them out AGAIN!! I handstitched the polka-dot ribbon and shiny red buttons to the tags with thick craft thread. I love them just like this!
These friendship tags are super cute too! I stamped the birds on white cardstock, and then again on Regal Rose cardstock, with Razzleberry ink, and cut out the pink bird bodies. I attached them over the white birds with small glue dots. I added Crystal effects to each little heart, and cut the corners with a Ticket Corner punch. Then I used pop up foam dots to adhere the birdies to the scalloped Razzleberry square, which is a punch as well. I tied sheer white ribbon to the corners. Too easy!

This last set features the circular sentiment and heart stamp, stamped on both Chocolate Chip and Vanilla watercolor paper. I added some watercolored red highlights and clear embossing to the hearts, cut them out and popped them up with small glue dots. I used my white pigment ink pen to add dots around the scallops, but am not too happy with the results. I need a new white pen! If you recommend a specific one, please share details!! :)
I am going to add these to my etsy shop this weekend, as well as the Valentine's Day cards and note cards I mentioned. As soon as I have enough time! I am really in a creating mood, and have several more ideas brewing in my head! I love it when that happens! Don't want to waste my mojo on the computer all day!! Even though it is quite fun!
O.k...on with the show!

D2D Artist's Challenge Entry 'Collage?!?!'

Good Morning!
Here is my latest card featuring a digital stamp design by Faith Skrdla from
To be honest with you, when I first saw the latest freebie to play with, I was instantly scared. I do not do collage. At all! (stomping foot) I have seen some of Faith's beautiful cards using collage stamps, and she is the queen! If you have followed her work on SCS you know what I am saying! So, I took a deep breath, and asked myself, 'What would Faith do?".......and here is the result!
This time, I printed the digi out on SU's Whisper White cardstock....big mistake! Can you say 'blur.. or bleed....or frustration..?!?! GGRRR! Never again! But, luckily I had printed it out 4 times, and the third one WAS the charm. I took the colors from the MME Be Loved patterned paper, Sage Shadow, Ruby Red, So Saffron, and Blush Blossom, and used them to watercolor the image and as the cardstocks. I cut the image and mat layer with nesties, and added color to the edges with my stipple brush. I know that Faith always adds heat embossing to her collages, so I tried my hand at the same.......

I coated the Ruby Red scalloped square with Versamark and embossed it with clear. I LOVE the way it made the color pop! It is so much more vibrant now. Then I used my Versamark pen to add more clear to the details of the stamp and the scalloped edges too. The bird looked awful on the main layer, so I recolored another one, embossed it with clear, cut it out, and added it to the top of the bad bird with foam dots. MUCH BETTER! The heat embossing actually helped ease the blurring of the black outlines of the image, like amazingly!

The bow is a mimic of one I saw Laurie Wilson do on a recent card for a ClearlyiStamp Challenge. You just fold the ribbon into a mock bow, and use the prongs of the big brad to hold it together. She sure made it look easy...or else I am just uncoordinated, because it kept coming unfolded as I was trying to manipulate the bow into the brad and then attach it to the paper. But, in the end...it looks great, and I will be doing that to my ribbon more often! I am always looking for new ways to use ribbon!

Here is the opened card. I clear embossed all of the edges in 'Faith Skrdla' style, and am very happy that I did. I will be using that technique on more creations in the future as well!
I would have added sewing, but my sewing machine is on the fritz, skipping stitches and such.
You know, I am very happy with this card, and think it could quite possibly be one of the best I have ever made. I am glad I stepped out of my box, and tryed some new things.
Especially the 'collage'!
Can't wait to see the next challenge!

Clearly Inspired Challenge #4 Entry ~ Bradilicious!

Hello again!
I decided to enter the Clearly Inspired Challenge #4 once more, and created this set of Thank You note cards using a stamp set from SweetnSassy Stamps called 'In His Time'. They are so pretty and easy to use! I do not have any stamps from CDS in my collection, and really thought I had bought these butterflies from CDS!! (Yikes! Foot in my mouth!)I did add an accent with a Verve stamp near the sentiment because it seemed so alone there, and needed a little something. The main colors are Purely Pomegranate, Regal Rose, and Bermuda Bay. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Lemonade stack, and the brads are from that same line. I used my stipple brush to add color around the sentiment shape, and inside as well. I embossed the card front base with Spellbinder's Flourish plate, which turned out very subtle. Next time I use it I will mist the cardstock first to see if it gets a more defined texture.
The butterflies inside the card were stamped with third generation Pomegranate, which is kind of a chore! You dab, dab, dab on the ink pad....then stamp, stamp on the scratch paper........then huff, huff and stamp on the project! Do that 15 or so times!! I was dizzy! LOL! But well worth it, I like the way it turned out!

Here's the whole package. Love these butterflies!!
Well I am feeling very crafty today, and am off to create something else! I hope you have enjoyed my challenge entry! Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Have a fantastic day!

D2D Artist's Challenge #3 Birthday Dog Card

Okay! Here is my latest Artist's Challenge entry!
This card uses a digital stamp called 'Wish' which was created by Faith Skrdla, and can be found in her Designed2Delight Digi Stamp Shop!
This guy is super cute and funny! I have two big old chocolate labs, and this stamp reminds me of them perfectly!
The card base is SU's Pacific Point, the papers are BG's Lime Rickey. I used an aqua brush to water color the image with dye inks, and I added the big corduroy brads after I noticed the new Clear Dollar Stamps challenge...brads. Perfect! They added a little bit more masculinity to my card! And, for the very first time...I entered one card into two challenges! Wow! That is not an easy task! I do not know how some of you gals enter into several challenges at once, it hurts my brain!! :)
Here he is up close. Not too perfect...but I am still working on my watercoloring skills! I think I am improving...a bit! :)

And there you have it!
I hope you enjoyed it!

Leave a comment to let me know what you think!!

Thanks for stopping by!

I got the teal pearls at the EclecticPaperie! I love the items they carry in their shop, but the shipping takes a long time!

Here is the whole package! I guess these notes could be used for Valentine's too! Lot's of hearts!!
