D2D Artist's Challenge #2 Be Mine Bear Entry

Here is my latest creation using a digi stamp called 'Be Mine Bear' from Faith Skrdla's Designed2Delight Digital Stamp Shop! This image is so pretty! I really had a great time water coloring and designing this card for her!
The patterned paper and sentiment circle are from MME Be Loved paper kit, and the cardstock's are SU's Sage Shadow, Cameo Coral, and Real Red.This time, I printed the image on watercolor paper several times. I watercolored it with my aqua pen and dye inks after heat setting the black printer ink. It worked fairly well as long as I kept hitting it with heat between each color. I think she looks a little more 'surprised' than happy, now that I painted her face!! :) I used Caramel, Curry, Sage Shadow, Real Red, Bashful Blue, and Cameo Coral inks.
I cut out the heart and paws and popped them up with foam dots!

The shiny red brads are awesome, huh?? I found those on ebay! The ribbon was added in hind-sight! I had already adhered everything to the card front with out thinking of ribbon, when it hit me!! Where's the ribbon, Sherrie?? So I crafted this 'half bow' and stitched it to the card front under the scalloped circle, with a couple of small stitches. It will never fall off! And, no one knows I goofed! :)

Here is the inside! All finished here!
So, things I learned making my second digital stamp card:
1. Heat set the ink! (thank you Faith!)
2. Go easy on the water when watercoloring printed images, less is more!
3. Digital stamps ROCK! So easy and fun!
I love this bear, so much so, that I have another card in the works! I hope Faith is creating more Valentine images, because I am lovin' the hearts today!
Thanks for peeking in at my work today!
Have a good one!
Sherrie

Picture Re-Takes!

Okay, I admit it, this is a little weird! But I was not happy with the pictures of this card in my last post, so I retook them! I am much happier with the lighting, and now you can see the finished insides of the card as well. I had finished making this card front in a hurry to get it posted in time, and had not actually finished it! And it was dark!

So there you have it!
Thanks for putting up with me!

D2D Digi Stamps Artist's Challenge Entry #1

Hey there everyone! I am really sliding in under the wire with this one!! My family has been sick, and so I had to put this off until the last minute. They are better now, and I am back to work! Plus, this is my first time using a digital stamp, and it was so easy and fun!! I just have to 'turn it in'! This card uses the Primitive Snow Angel digital stamp from Designed2Delight Digital Stamps. Isn't it awesome?? As soon as I saw it I knew I had to make a card with it! So cute!!
I printed it out 4 times with my computer to create different layers. I added glitter to the wings, and Crystal Effects to the heart! The paper and buttons are by Basic Grey, the inks, cardstock, and ribbon SU, and the snowflake punch Martha Stewart. The main colors are Wasabi and Ruby Red.

I do not think I have the right ink in my printer for digital stamps, as the image started to blur when I water colored it. I carefully dabbed the ink colors to the scarf and heart, and I like the effect. The scarf looks like fuzzy, soft fleece! So I am sticking with it! :)
I hope you enjoy my card! Please leave a comment to let me know you were here and what you think of my creation!
Happy Holidays to EVERYONE!!

Great Friend

Hello! Jumping in with a friendship card today! Extremely non-Christmasy! I have to mix it up, or I lose my mojo! This card utilizes two Stampin' Up! sets, Eastern Blooms and Great Friend. To me, those two sets just go together! The smaller flowers go great with the butterfly stamp too! The colors here are Tango Tangerine, Chocolate Chip, and Natural White. The patterned paper is DCWV, and the border punch is MS.

It seems to be kinda retro with these colors and the femininity. What do you think?
Here is the inside, clean and simple. This card would look great with sewing too, but sometimes I just don't want to sew!
I received my first stamps from Verve in the mail yesterday! I am so happy!! They are gorgeous in the package - how awesome is that? I got Thankful Hearts and Thankful Accents. So pretty! I want to play with them right away, but I am in the middle of a set of snowman cards!! UUGGHH! And, I ordered some new papers from the eclecticpaperie, but they have not shipped yet. I got MME Pretty Please and MME Be Loved Collections!! I cannot wait to get those!! They will look fantastic with these new Verve stamps!! HURRY WITH MY PAPER PLEASE!! I NEED them!
I want to order more Nesties too, but am torn between which ones to get next. Labels 5 or 9?? Ovals? Scalloped circles?....the list goes on and on......!! YIKES!!
Well, I'd better get to work on those snowmen! Got to clear my desk for fresh and new fun!
Thanks for stopping by! Leave a comment so I know you were here! I'd love to know who you are!

Clearly Inspired Challenge 3 Winter Snow Thanks

O.k, I do not know if you are allowed to enter the Clearly Inspired Challenges more than once, but I am! I was already creating this set of note cards when the challenge was posted! So I just have to submit them! Like I said before, I only have a set of butterfly stamps from CDS, and this is a Winter challenge. The stamp here is an old one from StudioG. It is stamped on SU's Shimmery White cs. I added MS snowflake punches from the Shimmery White as well, with dabs of Liquid Pearls on the centers. (LOVE THAT!) The base is Baja Breeze, and the Pink Pirouette was already on my desk, so I had to add it. I was going to use Ruby Red, but the pink won hands down! Very sweet and feminine! The dsp is SU as well, and the border punch is from Fiskars.
Each note card is 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches, which requires an A1 or 4bar envelope. So cute and mailable too!
We all need a good set of thank you cards after the holidays! Hope you like them!

Clearly Inspired Challenge Snowman Card

Here is my first entry in the Clearly Inspired Challenges at ClearDollarStamps Blog! If you win, you get to pick a stamp set of your choice!! PICK ME!! PLEASE! I do not have any winter CDS to play with, so I whipped up this snowman card to enter. The snowman is from The Greeting Farm, and I embossed him/her with clear for a polished look! I used SU dye inks and an aqua brush to watercolor the image, layered it over Old Olive and Soft Sky, and added machine stitching. The two background papers are from Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses, and I added more stitching to them as well. The Pink Pirouette looks fantastic with this color combo! I added some tiny Kaiser pearls as a final touch.
The sewing turned out great on the inside and out of this card. I guess you should avoid coffee when sewing! :)
Yesterday was my 37th birthday....oh i mean 29th......again!! :) It was a perfect day with all of my guys! They were so super sweet! I love them so much!! O.k.....enough mush!
Thanks for peaking at my work!

Inkadinkado Gift Tag Trio & Note Cards

Good Morning Blogger World! I hope you all slept well last night! Me? Oh, pretty well! It was COLD last night here in Washington! COLD!

Today I'd like to share two creations with you. The first is a set of gift tags I made using my Nesties and a Santa stamp from Inkadinkado. They are 3-1/2 inches wide, and almost look like tree ornaments!! I added liquid Applique to the beard and cuffs to brighten and fluff dear Ol' Saint Nick! I added the 'ho ho ho' with some small acrylic letters from Studio G, and had a heck of a time getting them to stay on the acrylic block while I stamped. They had never been used, so they should have stayed put, but no, that did not happen!! But my tags turned out! The other thing I made was this set of 3 note cards. The snowman image is from the same set from Inkadinkado, and I water colored him with SU's dye inks. I added Liquid Applique to the snow around him too! I did a bit of sponging around the image, and it turned out well. (You know I am working on that!!) The scalloped square has heat embossed glitter on it, and I punched out a MS snowflake and attached it with a rhinestone brad over some shiny sheer ribbon.
The sewing went well, and I like the effect of the dark navy thread against the lighter blue background paper. I left these cards blank so that they could be used for any reason this winter!

That's what I have been up to lately! Trying to be Christmas crafty! I am finding it a little difficult this year. Just cannot get inspired for Christmas projects....don't know why I am drawing a blank each time I sit down to create! Weird!
Hope you are having better luck on your Holiday crafts!

SweetnSassy Stamps Butterfly Gatefold

This is the first set (and only so far) of SweetnSassy stamps I have purchased. It is called 'In His Time' and it is fabulous! The butterflies in this set are so pretty, and the sentimentas are perfect! I know I will use this set over and over! I had originally made a card exactly like this one for my sister, and she liked it so much, I made another! The main colors are Cameo Coral, Taken With Teal, and Chocolate Chip. The flowers were made with SU's 'For All You Do' stamp set. I stamped the flowers with Coral, then heat embossed clear polka dots over the top and cut them out with my snips.
The base is Choc Chip, and the patterned paper is Thoroughly Modern dsp. I added sewing with white thread, Choc Chip satin ribbon, vanilla brads for the flowers, and some half pearls for femininity. Some very light sponging too! I am working on that skill. It does not come naturally to me, and I prefer a stipple brush!

Here it is opened completely. I really like making gatefold cards. They are so nice, and so easy to make. All you have to do is score your folds a little differently, decorate, and you're done!
ClearDollar Stamps just had a new release, and the stamps are mostly singles, which is all good, but they are so small, I am not sure if I want them. (SORRY CDS!) But I do have several of their previous sets on my Wish List that I am going to buy when I can afford to. They did just release a set for Prayer Cards, which I think is fantastic though, and it went right to the top of my chart!
Have you seen the new release by Verve???? SO GORGEOUS! I tryed to win the sets, but no, not me! Then, I went to buy them, and one set is sold out already!! They are that HOT! I made an all new Wish List just for Verve in my notebook, and it filled up fast! They have MANY awesome sets in their shop with my name written all over them! And, their design team ROCKS! Those gals make the most gorgeous cards and crafts...it just blows my mind! I added most of their blogs to my favorites! So brilliant! The talent is AMAZING!
So, there you go, my opinion for the day! BLAH! I have been brimming with excitement and have no one to talk to about it! My hubby does not want to hear about crafts, and my sons run away!!! Thanks for listening! :)
O.k...I've got to go stamp something!! I am home alone, and typing on the computer!! What's wrong with me?????
Have the most creative day!

Craft Supplies For Sale!!

Hey there! If anyone is reading this, you might be interested in some of the stamping and paper craft items I have up for sale on EBAY ! I listed them as auctions and the starting bids are super CHEAP! There are single stamps and sets, (some Stampin' Up!) clear stamps, and embellishments. A Fastenater and 8 packs of staples, little clippies and some SU! rubons! I am listing many items each day, and tomorrow I will be adding a bunch of Stampin' Up! sets. I sure hope that they find good homes! I know that not many people want things that are second hand for Christmas, but everyone is broke, so it should not make a differrence! At least, it doesn't at my house!! I do not mind used things at all, and actually relish a good yard sale find! Anyways, I am cleaning up my stamping station to make room for crafting!! :) I have too much stuff, and have no where to put it! So, out it goes. My husband is really happy about this, I mean REALLY happy about it! He is not into 'crafts' as much as I am! He'd rather have lots of tools and truck parts! BOO to him.

So please go and take a look! You will love my prices!
Oh, and by the way, the card shown above is one I made a little while back. I just wanted something to share today since I have been so busy with other things. It features stamps from SU's Great Friend and Eastern Blooms stamp sets. The colors are Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, and Whisper White. It turned out pretty well, and I made a tag to go with it from the leftovers!
Have a great day! Hope you find time to create today!

Snowman Christmas Card Wannabe.....!

This little guy is so cute! I love snow men/ladies! This card was inspired by a similar card by Kim Teasdale, although her card is WAY WAY better than mine! Hers featured many more layers and sewing, and nicer sponging and coloring, and also had Charlie as the 'snowhorse'! Super cute! But, here is my feeble attempt to mimic her talent and artistry.........not so good! I am actually quite embarressed by the sewing! For whatever reason, I just could not keep it straight, and when using dark thread, it shows vividly! I would probably feel better about this card if I had gotten it nice and staight.
The background paper is from SU, and I ran it through my CB with the Snowflake folder. I sanded the flakes slightly for more dimension. I stitched the papers to Brilliant Blue cardstock. Mr. Snowman was stamped on Whisper White and watercolored with dye inks, then cut out with nesties. I tryed my best to sponge on a sky background....but seriously need to practice that a LOT! I added Liquid Applique for puffy snow. The scalloped circle is heat embossed with sparkly powder, and I added sheer ribbon, a felt snowflake and some brads to finish things off.
The inside of the card features better sewing than the front!! :)

So, all in all, I think I have nothing on Kim Teasdale!! :) But I will certainly be practicing!!
O.k...off I go to get some chores done and do more stamping! The latest Caardvarks challenge is up and it is an easy one! 'Color it!' I am in!!

SK111409 @ Paper Craft Planet

This is a card I made for the sketch challenge at Paper Craft Planet. It has been a while since I participated, so I thought I'd better get with the program! I noticed also, that hardly anyone is doing the PCP challenges these days. I guess with so many out there, it is hard to do them all! I know I am overwhelmed with them all! So...this sketch is fairly simple and pretty fun. I used my cute Santa from an Inkadinkado set, some Basic Grey paper, and Stampin Up stuff too. It turned out pretty well, and I will probably make more like it!

My family had come down with the most horrible cold, and we are at the tail end of it now. Major congestion and so tired! I did not get a lot of crafting done this last week, but I am feeling like stamping now! I am so glad we are through it!

Hope you are all staying well and busy!

WSC102 My VERY late card!

I created this card last Friday using the WSC102 sketch challenge from Beate's blog. But, I never got around to posting it. I've got to get on top of that! One hard thing about that is, that I have dial-up Internet service, and it takes WAY TO LONG to do anything online. So I have to pick and choose by how much time I have to sit and wait!

So, this card uses Papertrey Ink's Autumn Abundance stamp set. The color combo is Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy, Elegant Eggplant, and More Mustard. I got the combo right off of the SU Color Wheel, because I knew the flowers were going to be yellow-ish. And this jumped out at me. I really like the combo! I used my aqua painter and dye inks to watercolor the stamped image, then cut it out with nesties. I wanted to add a sentiment, but it looks so good without one, so I added the half pearls where I thought I would have placed the sentiment. And it worked out! The patterned paper is SU's Autumn Vine dsp, and the long Burgundy strip has been embossed with a folder.
I plan on making more cards with this stamp set, it is so great! Hey, maybe I should buy more PTI stamps, huh?? Then we won't get tired of seeing this one over and over! (light bulb!) I think they have a new release on the 15th of each month. I will have to go see if there are any sneak peeks going on! Fun fun!
Go stamp something!

Autumn Splendor ~ Thinking of You

O.k....another card made with the Autumn Slendor set from SU! I can't help myself...I told you I love it! This one uses Indian Summer paper from Basic Grey. Wow! So gorgeous! I think that paper pad has become my favorite of all! I stamped the leaves with Basic Black ink and heat embossed them with fine black powder. Then I cut each one out and attached them to the card front with pop up dots. The background is the designer paper matted on Melon Mambo, and stitched with black thread. I added shiny black brads for more dimension and interest. The sentiment is from a clear stamp set from Inkadinkado, which is heat embossed too, making it raised and shiny.
For the inside, I stamped more black leaves and did some more sewing. I think it looks great!
I know that Fall is almost over, but I will certainly be making more cards with these stamps and papers! I love them too much to move on to Winter yet!!
O.k....on with the show! I made a ton of cards this last weekend. My hubby took the boys roller skating, and I had 5 hours to myself! It was fabulous! I made cards and jammed out to MY favorite music the whole time! No housework for me! (Thank you sweetie!!)
Leave me a note to let me know what you think of this Autumn card! And, don't foget to sign up as a 'Follower' - I'd love to see who is reading my posts!

Autumn Splendor Note Card Set

I love to create little note card sets. They are so fun to make, and really come together quite well. These cards measure 3-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches, and you can cut 3 out of an 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheet of cardstock. The envelopes are 4-bar or A1 sized, and are mailable too! I find them on ebay. For this set, I used SU's Autumn Splendor stamp set and dsp. The leaves were stamped in Choc Chip, Really Rust, and Mustard, and then hand cut and attached with pop up dots. The background papers were stitched with staight and zigzag stitches onto a mat of Choc Chip cardstock, and then adhered to the card front with runner tape. I added some gorgeous Teal rhinestones to tie it all together. Love it!

For the inside of the cards, I mirrored the front with great papers, stamping, and more sewing. I love how this set turned out! And I am not the only one, because someone put them in their etsy shopping cart before I was finished setting them up in my shop! Awesome!

Well, I have plenty more posts to add here today! Hope you enjoyed this set! Feel free to leave a comment!
Hope you find time to stamp today!

Another fun fabric card ~ For You

I thought I would share another fabric card with you! It utilizes the same fabric as yesterday's card, but I focused on other colors in the fabric square. Taken With Teal and Rich Razzleberry look fantastic together, don't they?I stitched the fabric to the Teal layer before adding it to the card front so that no stitching shows on the interior of the card. The frame around the sentiment is from SU's 'Gallery' stamp set, which I stamped and sponged with Teal, and then heat embossed the edges with shiny glittery powder! The flower embellishment was made with SU's 'For All You Do' stamp set, and attached with a teal brad from HOTP.
By the way, the threads I use for sewing are from an assortment I found on ebay which included about 50 different mini spools of colorful threads. It was a great buy at about 10 bucks. The spools are pretty little though, but fit on my machine just right. It was worth the money to have all these coordinating colors for my cards!

Well, that's a wrap for now! I am going to play accountant today, and get my father's bills in the mail. He has a mental disability from a head injury in 1986, and I am his Representative Payee for his moneys. It is not a difficult job, but can be time consuming about twice a month. He really made a mess of his finances after a divorce, and I am at the tail end of sorting it all out for him. I am so blessed to have all of my own bills paid and in good standings!! I would hate to deal with all of these collection agencies and bill collectors for my own finances! They are heartless and cold! But, people create their own circumstances, and have to deal with the consequences. I though, am just the representative for the slacker! So be nice!
Have a fantastic day! Stamp something!

Fabric Friendship Card

Good Morning! Today is Wednesday! Where did the week go? Yikes!
The card I am sharing with you today is super fun and easy. I love to add fabric squares to my cards, and this one has a designer fabric I found by Alexander Henry, at Hawthorne Threads.
What grabbed my attention to this fabric was that it matches the new In-Colors by Stampin' Up! perfectly. It contains every color! There are 4 diffrent swatches that I purchased, and I cannot wait to make more cards with them!
This particular card uses the butterfly fabric, which I layered and stitched onto Pomegranate, then Kiwi and onto the Melon base. I frayed the fabric edges carefully to show there is actually fabric there, not paper! Then I stamped the element and sentiment stamps from SU 'Great Friend' in Kiwi and Pomegranate, sponged it slightly and added a few dots, then attached it with foam dots over Melon grosgrain. I added Leafy Branch and Flower Fusion die cuts, and a couple of brads to pin it all down! Super sweet and easy to make! I like those kind of cards!

Inside, I stamped cute flowers from SU 'For All You Do' and sponged all around in Melon and Pomegranate, then stitched some more! Cute!
Well, I am off to pick up my little one from preschool, run to the bank and do a little shopping! Maybe I will find some great Christmas stamps! Or gorgeous paper! Wait....I am going to the grocery store!! Dang it!
Hope you find time to stamp today!

Mojo Monday 109 Birthday Card

Hello everybody! I finally took pictures of my first try at a Mojo Monday sketch challenge. this sketch was about a week ago, so you can see how far behind I really am! But it is a great design, and I am glad I tryed it! This card turned out great! The card base is Rose Red, one of my absolute favorite SU colors! The background papers are Basic Grey's Lemonade, which are matted and sewn onto Pink Pirouette. The bear image is from Stampavie, and I watercolored it with dye inks, and added Crystal Effects and Stickles. I cut it out with a Large Label Nestie. The sentiment is from an old set from Impression Obsession, stamped in Rose Red and punched out with circles. I added Pretty in Pink taffeta and Pink Pirouette buttons to finish off the card front!
Inside is similar to the front, with sewing and a cute pink button! I love that paper!!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about this card! I have plenty more to come!
Last night I attended a parent meeting at my son's H.S. It was about applying to college, and all it entails. I REALLY cannot believe we are at this point in our lives, and especially my son's life. He turned 18 about a month ago, and I still have not accepted that, let alone the aspect of college next Fall! But, I could not have asked for a better son. He is so smart, handsome, and responsible. I know he will do well in college, and in his life. And I am not just saying that because I am his mom, he really is an awesome kid! I am just struggling to let go a little more...and a little more....and a little more.....! :) *sigh*
It's funny too, that as he graduates school, my youngest son STARTS kindergarten in the Fall! So I have one finishing, and one starting! wow! That makes me all sentimental too!
Thanks for stopping by! Leave a note to let me know you found your way safely!
Hope you can stamp today!

For All You Do Birthday Card

This fantastic birthday card was made using SU's 'For All You Do' and 'Happy Thoughts' stamp sets. It is 4-3/4 inches square, and opens to the side. I stamped the stem onto Whisper white, and then stamped the flowers onto it where I knew I would add popped up, cut out flowers. I used a metal ruler to add the lines around the image, and punched the corners with the Ticket corner punch. The designer paper is 'Cottage Wall', which I am very fond of now! I machine stitched it to the layers of Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White.
The circular sentiment is stamped in Old Olive, and layered over circle and scalloped circle punched papers. The brads are from my old stash of HOTP products, which I forget to use all the time!! :) They match the Razzleberry perfectly! (I got lucky!) I threaded the polka dot ribbon through a slot punched in the main image, and it was not easy! It took several tries to get it tied just right!

The inside mirrors the front, with nice paper layers and machine stitching. I added the extra flower to further coordinate. I think it turned out rather well, and I may just have to make another one just like it! It is always good to have birthday cards on hand!
I was able to spend some time creating today, and finished several new cards. It snowed here all day, though it has pretty much melted now! (thank goodness!) I am still feeling like Fall...not Winter!! I made two any-occasion cards, and a cute birthday card with a bear and flowers! Very sweet! I will post pics here when I get them!
Have a great night! Hope you find time to create today!
